Enabling tethering on the iPhone 3G (*) for T-Mobile Germany with iTunes 8.2 on Mac OS X:

(*) tested on a regular, legal, netlocked, iTunes activated iPhone 3G 16GB running on iPhone OS 3.0 (7A341)

1) Close iTunes

2) Open Terminal.app and execute the following command
      defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

3) Download the following file
      http://www.24100.net/downloads/TMobile_Germany.ipcc

4) Remove the .zip extension from the file if you've downloaded it with Safari

5) Open iTunes

6) Connect your iPhone via USB

7) Click the "Check for updates" button while holding down the Option key (alt)

8) Select the file "TMobile_Germany.ipcc" you just downloaded; it'll upload it to your iPhone in a couple of seconds

9) Disconnect and reboot your iPhone

10) Go to Settings > General > Network > Internet Tethering

11) Enable Tethering and follow the instructions given on the phone
